Event Type Historic Site Tour/History Description The women of Troy worked on social movements such as Abolition, Temperance, women’s rights, labor issues and child welfare. Even with often different perspectives, they found common ground to establish key community organizations, many of which are still active today. They came together in times of national challenges as well. Learn about some of these women who left their mark and a lasting legacy in Troy. Additional Equipment Required: Walking tours explore sites around the Historic District of Troy, NY. The tour covers about 1 mile and the sidewalk can be bumpy in some areas. Tours take place rain or shine. Participants are advised to be prepared for the weather and walking/travel, including mobility devices and comfortable shoes. There is ramp access from the sidewalk to enter the museum. Inside the museum there is an elevator to take visitors between floors for the galleries and the historic house. Accessible bathrooms are available in the museum as well. Please contact the museum at 518-272-7232 x111 with any questions or to discuss specifics for your visit.
