Event Type Historic Site Tour/History Description Site of the planning for the Battles of Saratoga in the summer of 1777, the historic Van Schaick Mansion is an architectural gem. Generals Schuyler, Gates, Col. Morgan and the Riflemen of Virginia, General Benedict Arnold, Stark Kosciusko, and many more people of this time stayed at the house for the buildup of the army before the advance to meet the British Army under the leadership of General Burgoyne.
