Event Type Paddle Description Join us paddling and rowing on the Hudson River. Or just come down to watch and root the participants on. Kayakers and rowers of all levels, from newbies to highly experienced, are welcome to participate. We will have a 1-mile course. Or just come out and paddle. A post event pancake breakfast will also be provided. The Paddle & Oars Challenge is a fundraiser to increase public awareness and access to the Ward Brothers Memorial Park, part of the City of Newburgh Hudson River Waterfront Trail. Your participation helps support student athlete clean water projects including shoreline restoration, Hudson River stewardship, Plastic Free Hudson River and other enrichment programming. $30 per person inclusive of commemorative event t-shirt and post event pancake breakfast.
Additional Information
There will be safety motorboats with experienced coaches on board. This is suitable for reasonably physically fit adults and children ages 10 and up. Keep some distance from the shoreline as it can be shallow and rocky.Additional Equipment Required: For those who do not have their own kayak and equipment, we will have equipment available for rental. One and 2-person kayaks and various rowing sculls. Please contact coachedkennedy@yahoo.com in advance to make a reservation.
