Event Type Walk/Hike Description Join us for a guided hike on The Preserve at Vassar College from 1-2pm. This tour will highlight the native and invasive plant species found in the area on the Farm Road and Collins Trail. The Collins Trail is our phenology trail that leads to the Collin’s Field Station and pavilion. The hike is *not* a loop, however, there will be someone to guide you back to the entrance. Please register here: https://forms.gle/njeZA78rbsKfPYPx9 If you are looking for a way to get further involved, join us from 2-3pm for a short invasive species work session after the hike. This is a great way to connect with stewardship and make a difference in restoring the native flora of the Hudson Valley. The 415 acre Vassar Ecological Preserve is an invaluable resource for Vassar and the larger surrounding community. Visitors may also use the preserve by hiking, biking, and running on a network of marked trails, giving campus and community members access to one of the few remaining green spaces in Poughkeepsie. The mission of the Vassar Preserve is to protect and preserve the ecological diversity of the land to ensure that its educational value will be maintained in perpetuity.
