Details

Event Type Concert Description Acclaimed musicians, composers, and teachers Elizabeth Brown and Ralph Samuelson once again bring the evocative sounds of the Japanese bamboo flute, shakuhachi, to Innisfree with the Hudson Valley Shakuhachi Choir. This ensemble of 10 players performs music that resonates beautifully across the garden in a program of traditional spiritual pieces, folk songs, and new works. Please bring a blanket or folding chair for this early evening event. This performance is part of Innisfree’s programming for Gardens for Peace, an annual nationwide initiative coordinated by the North American Japanese Garden Foundation in honor of the United Nations’ International Day of Peace.
