Details

Event Type Walk/Hike Description In the spirit of the diverse cultures and periods that influenced this garden, celebrate a shared global phenomenon—the autumnal equinox—with a very special moon viewing at Innisfree. Bring a blanket and gaze up at the heavens and out at the moonlit landscape. Our friends at the Mid-Hudson Astronomical Association will have set up telescopes to provide closer looks at the moon as well as Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune, which should all be visible that night. They can also answer questions about the night sky. If you would like to set up your own telescope, you are welcome to arrive as early as 6:30pm. While the full moon isn’t until September 29, astronomers say that being able to look at both the light and dark sides of the moon together is most interesting.
