Event Type Walk/Hike Description Westmoreland Sanctuary is excited to host a guided nature hike as part of the Hudson River Valley Ramble. The 1 hour and 1-mile-long hike will be led by Westmoreland Naturalist, Joshua Cohen. Weave in and out of fields and forests as you take in the serene beauty of Westmoreland’s educational campus. Learn about nature in the summer, forest and pond ecology, Westchester history, and native plants and animals. Hike begins at 11:10 AM, meet inside the Westmoreland Sanctuary Natural Science Museum, the hike will end at the Museum as well. The museum is a short walk from the parking area. Other features at Westmoreland Sanctuary include a terrace garden with a small pond and children's playhouse, picnic area, live animals and exhibits within the museum and 8.5 miles of hiking trails.
