Event Type Walk/Hike Description Come walk with Westchester Land Trust's Vice President of Conservation! The vibrant mix of coastal waters, marsh, wooded wetlands and uplands, vernal pool, and edge habitats, makes Otter Creek Preserve reserve an important site for migratory birds, marine life, insects, reptiles and amphibians, fish, and mammals. The preserve offers significant passive recreation opportunities as it has a forested upland trail approximately three-quarters of a mile in length adjacent to the wetland. There is a seasonally active osprey nesting platform. The viewshed afforded from being nestled along the Mamaroneck coastline attracts birdwatchers (more than 100 species of birds have been recorded here), wildlife lovers, photographers, and botanists. Parking Information: Otter Creek Preserve is located on Taylors Lane in Mamaroneck. Turn onto Taylors Lane from Boston Post Road and go 0.5 miles, past the ‘Private Road’ sign. Near the end of Taylors Lane, the preserve is visible on the right side of the road. Parking is on the right along the split rail fence.
