Event Type Volunteer - invasive plant removal and native planting Description Join the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference's Invasives Strike Force in restoring the habitat in Harriman State Park along the Appalachian Trail by removing invasive plants and making room for native species. Anyone is welcome to participate. No experience is necessary; we provide on-the-job training. You will need to bring leather work gloves, plenty of water, and a lunch you can eat on the trails. We provide the tools. Exact meeting place and more details will be provided upon sign-up. This event is co-hosted by Wild East Women and is focused on bringing together people who identify as female and their advocates in a supportive, non-judgmental environment to learn about the joys of nature and giving back to the outdoors.
