Event Type Walk/Paddle Description Join the Quassaick Creek Watershed Alliance and the Newburgh Waterways Center along with other community partners for a day of play along the waterway! Discover Quassaick Creek with a paddle on Muchattoes Lake with experienced kayaking guides or tour the creek on a guided 1-hour informative walk, making brief stops to review its vast history. The guided 1-mile hike is easy difficulty as most are on even terrain and walking trails. The paddle and walk are part of Quassaick Creek Fest 2024 – celebrating community, art, ecology, food, music, and more along the creek. FREE event. All are welcome. Additional Equipment Required: For guided walk, comfortable walking shoes, insect repellant, sunscreen, and water are recommended. Kayaking participants must be at least 10 years of age or be accompanied by an adult and have basic swimming ability. All paddling equipment is provided. It is recommended that paddlers have comfortable clothing and shoes, insect repellant, sunscreen, and water.
