Event Type Walk/Hike Description Come with questions to a demonstration on the basics of preparing for a day hike or an overnight backpacking hike with Catskills Visitor Center staff. A hike of the trails at the Visitor Center is included, just over 1 mile. Learn about outdoor equipment, Catskills ecology, and take a short hike on Visitor Center trails. Additional Information

Flat hiking terrain with a short uphill section, sneakers with tread or hiking shoes recommended. Part of the program is stationary.
Additional Equipment Required: Participants can bring outdoor gear from home to try it out or to ask questions. Only good shoes and water are highly recommended to bring.
