Event Type Historic Site Tour/History Description Have you always looked up in wonder at those white rocks spelling out TROY? Discover one of urban Troy’s hidden gems, Prospect Park atop Mount Ida. In our walk along the circular tour road, we will learn about its antecedents as the 19th century country estates of some of Troy’s founding families, and then discuss its 20th century development as the people’s refuge from the gritty city, all as designed by RPI’s first African-American alumnus. Along the way we will take a look back out at the whole Hudson-Mohawk valley from those rocks. Organization Hosting the Event Transport Troy Contact Email CollarCityRamble@gmail.com
