Event Type Historic Site Tour/History Description Events will include a presentation by Robert S. Feranec, Director, Research & Collections Division; Curator of Pleistocene Vertebrate Paleontology; New York State Museum, on the discovery and history of the Cohoes Mastodon. The presentation will be followed by a walk near the area where the mastodon was found, which will also feature views of the Cohoes Falls, historic Erie Canal sites, and the Harmony Mills Historic District.
