Event Type Walk/Hike Description Politics and Prohibition dives deep into Albany history, highlighting how even the early Dutch settlers recognized the political power brewers could wield and how this tradition carries beyond the prohibition era. Maeve will dish out the juicy local gossip of the secret speakeasies, the bootleggers who supplied them, and the suspected politicians who perhaps had ulterior motives in keeping up the appearance that Albany was a “dry town.” In hushed tones, guests will also investigate leads in the murder of notorious bootlegger Legs Diamond, and decide for themselves who did the nefarious deed.
