Event Type Walk/Hike Description Come hike this hidden gem in Yorktown! The Hunter Brook Preserve provides far more to view on a hike than the usual tall trees and gorgeous greens offered by the local forests. The 45 acres encompasses many picturesque sites including the rolling stream that starts as straight away on the north side and tends toward serpentine in the south quarter. The preserve also features a quaint walking bridge to traverse over the stream, providing the perfect spot to take in the sounds of the water flowing by. While this preserve protects the stream and the quality of water carried to the Croton Reservoir, the aspiration behind the preserve’s creation has left the town with a region of invaluable beauty. This guided tour will take hikers to the numerous sites in the Hunter Book Preserve and will explain some background on the wildlife, the stream, and the process to get such a project completed. Assemble in the parking lot at Fox Tail Lane. Organization Hosting the Event Yorktown Trail Town Committee Phone Number 914-688-5232
