Event Type Historic Site Tour/History Description Visit the North Family at Mount Lebanon Shaker Village, a National Historic Landmark. Mount Lebanon was the leading Shaker society in America from its founding in 1787 through its closing in 1947, and the North Family was its face to the wider World, composed of some of the most progressive and public Shakers in Shaker history. Explore the North Family in daily guided tours. New for 2017 is a walking tour exploring the lives and work of women at the North Family - the Shaker Sisterhood. View exhibitions of Shaker objects from the Museum’s collections, dive into educational resources at our Visitor Center, and browse the Museum Store, located in the Granary – featuring a wide selection of books and gifts, including an expanded selection of products from the Shakers of Sabbathday Lake, Maine, the last remaining active community.
