Event Type Hudson River Estuary Exploration/Environmental Education Description Take a tour of the tidal mudflats of the Rondout Creek in search of migratory birds, shorebirds, and terns. The mouth of Rondout Creek provides rich habitat for migrant and local birds alike. Great blue herons, osprey, bald eagles, cormorants, and other local water birds are easy to spot. Bring your binoculars to look out for migrating waterfowl and songbirds on this cruise aboard the 100% solar-powered tour boat Solaris. With her quiet electric motors, you should be able to get up close and personal with all kinds of birds.
